Well. Maybe you should talk to the other people who just showed up here. All the locals are going to tell you is an explanation is forthcoming, so you might want to kill some time getting to know each other.

AN INTERACTIVE CUTSCENE BEGINS.

[There's only one way into and out of town, a notch in the brush and rock faces framed with a gate twenty feet high. It hangs wide open, a sign stretched over to the top waiting for all comers. "SAY FAREWELL TO SUNRISE HILLS," it reads, as if the gate's offering the new guests the one thing they want right now.

While some of them have been causing chaos, law and order has stepped in. A old man stands on top of the gate: long white hair, long white mustache, long black coat, and a voice much louder than any human has a right to be. When he starts talking, the whole town can hear him even from inside the Salty Splatoon, and the locals at least freeze for a moment.]

That's enough. Get out here. I'm the one you want to ruckus with, pilgrims.

[As guests gather, he looks each one of them over, one hand to his hip, the other shading his eyes: he doesn't look like he thinks too much of most of them.] Now, instead of taking it out on my patch of dirt, I'm right here.
