So, after the sheriff's little introduction, you've got a better idea of why you're here... and outside of the more bloody-minded players present, it's probably not one you're terribly enthused about. Nevertheless, you're here, you're not leaving, and you've got a few rules to follow... but aside from that, you're basically left to your own devices. You can visit any of the locations in the town, and you do get complementary meals at the inn for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... but the question of whether someone will go ahead and kill hangs over the town like a dense fog.

Well, nobody's dead yet. But how long, exactly, will that last?

[Oh dear. Poor girl. After disappearing back from somewhere (don't worry about where), Zulf pauses where she's stuck and tangled on the ground.]

[She sighs and starts trying to wiggle out.]

Sorry. I swear I'll do better next time... I think these birds are just evil, but that's no excuse.

As for the birds... They're just stuck in the same situation as we are. Think of it like that.

....Are you sure you don't need help?

.........................it might be good. [sigh] I am supposed to be better than this.

Alright, just stay still... [Crouching down carefully, he starts to work through the tangles.] What is it you're supposed to be better at, exactly?

[stavros]

I fight all kinds of things, but I apparently can't handle a few birds. [sigh] All right, almost there. What kind of race means you have to get your own mount, anyway?

[fuckthemancers]

Fighting is different from taming. Just remember that. [And there's one tangled up mess taken care of. He moves onto the next.] Besides...

[His lips twist in a somber frown.]

This sort of thing... Whatever the point, it feels like a spectacle. So... for that reason, probably.

[stavros]

[Kokoro starts untying herself now that she's more free. She grimaces.]

These birds seem to think they're the same thing.

Some things aren't easy to tell when they only see the first part. I'm sure we'll figure out something.

[Moving his hands now that she's more involved, he nods to her.]

Do you have another plan?

[stavros]

[She gets out of the rope and starts trying to mess with it again.]

Trying to lasso a bird seems to be the only option here.

Not.... exactly.... I've actually had an idea of my own that I wanted to try, but I think it would be a little difficult on my own.

...And don't get tangled up again.

[stavros]

I won't! It's not like it happens all the time!

[fuckthemancers]

Well, if you keep fidgeting, it'll happen again.

[stavros]

[sighs as she gathers the rope up] You sound like my father.

[fuckthemancers]

[His mouth quirks up.]

Is that a good or bad thing?

[stavros]

[She shakes her head with another sigh, but smiles a bit.] Just... well, a little strict, but understandably. After all, I can't not live up to the rest of my family.

Well... I just want to make sure you stay safe. [He holds his hand out to her to help her up.] In this kind of place, with some of the people around...

Well, you never know what could happen, right?

[stavros]

[Kokoro takes his hand to stand up and nods.]

You need not worry about me. I've been training since I was four. Surely I can handle an emu.

[fuckthemancers]

So you're going in for another try, then?

[stavros]

Giving up is never an option.

Well, what do you think on the two of us working together to get ours, then?

[She runs up and lunges for another emu.]

[He trots after her, hands raised up in worry.]
