[mock trial intro] move 'em on, head 'em up

Whatever you were doing before you got here, it isn't what you're doing now. What you're doing now is waking up in an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room with... unfamiliar glasses on your face. No matter what you can do, you can't take those glasses off... but if you roll your eyes down, you'll be given a rundown of what's going on here.

Hmm. Well, that's probably a little unnerving. Maybe you should... leave? Fortunately, your room's not locked, but as you go downstairs and try and ask the locals what's going on, you'll find they're... less than cooperative. And if you go outside the inn and try to leave into the town... well, you'll find several locations around the town, but you'll also find that you can't seem to leave.

Well. Maybe you should talk to the other people who just showed up here. All the locals are going to tell you is an explanation is forthcoming, so you might want to kill some time getting to know each other.

[ Soren at least isn't bothered -- or rather, surprised -- by the man eyeing the knife. He's sure some of the others are liable to do the same. ]

I imagine so. Retrieving top-secret intelligence would naturally require more effort.

[ ... ]

I don't suppose your ability to retrieve such information would mean you've already come into knowledge surrounding the situation?
i_spy: ... :'( (There are only two glasses of wine)

[ So much more effort and so much hijinks, he lets out a sigh just thinking about it. ]

Unfortunately not. Even my attempts to communicate with the voice were not effective, but then again she is presumed to be only just clinging to life. Usually the person to blame in a situation such as this is obvious. Have you seen a loud, naked, or nearly-naked man covered in honey?

I ...

[ What. His mind just shuts down for a moment.

What? ]

Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

[ Ok. At least answer the question. ]

I haven't seen one, no. But why would you ever consider anyone in such a state to be responsible for anything concerning this situation?
i_spy: it feels like sea urchins (Despair is palpable)

...unfortunately, yes. [ The longest sigh, and he brings a gloved hand to his forehead for a moment before he tries to move on. His life is hard, okay. ]

I would consider it because it has happened numerous times before. More than I can count, and more than I care to remember. While I've done my best to suppress the memories of those encounters, it's a futile effort.

...Who is this person you speak of?

[ He asks in a bit of a hesitatingly, 'Do I want to know?' but he's asking anyway just in case he might show up here and know who to avoid. The knowledge wouldn't hurt. ]
i_spy: well his face is always like this with scout (Disapproving scout face)

The best answer I can provide—and I say this regrettably in all seriousness— is that she is a disembodied voice.
