[mock trial intro] move 'em on, head 'em up

Whatever you were doing before you got here, it isn't what you're doing now. What you're doing now is waking up in an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room with... unfamiliar glasses on your face. No matter what you can do, you can't take those glasses off... but if you roll your eyes down, you'll be given a rundown of what's going on here.

Hmm. Well, that's probably a little unnerving. Maybe you should... leave? Fortunately, your room's not locked, but as you go downstairs and try and ask the locals what's going on, you'll find they're... less than cooperative. And if you go outside the inn and try to leave into the town... well, you'll find several locations around the town, but you'll also find that you can't seem to leave.

Well. Maybe you should talk to the other people who just showed up here. All the locals are going to tell you is an explanation is forthcoming, so you might want to kill some time getting to know each other.

[Well obviously he's clearly some kind of high-tech robot cat. Look at those tech-y glasses. "Olympia, you're wearing those, too!" Shh.]

Someone had to have brought us here, and I didn't.

[Don't try to find his charge port, because there's not one to be found.]

It wasn't me either. But there's a lot of other people here, so one of them probably brought us here.

[He actually seems nonplussed at the idea of being carted around somewhere. Probably because he's a cat and that's how people take him anywhere. Cat carriers, man.]

[If you think about it, his mouth is sort of a charge port.]

Both "players" and "locals." I take it you're not the latter.

[That is true! But it charges on tuna and cat food, not electricity.]

This sure isn't home for me, so I guess I'm a player.

Maybe I should kill you, then.

[She says it like she's kidding. She, uh. Is kidding, right? They have to make it most of the week without killing anyone, so she'd better be...]

If you did, I would just come back. I can't die.

[He actually WOULD die here but he doesn't know that yet.]

Making it impossible to avoid being caught.

[So, mental note: don't kill the kitty, it won't help.]

[You shouldn't kill the kitty anyway omg]

But I don't think it would count as killing anyway, since I wouldn't die.

...that is possible. The rules don't specify.

[LOOK. THEY'RE IN A WEIRD MURDER TOWN. SHE HAS TO KEEP HER OPTIONS OPEN.]

In any event, if I were to kill you now, I would likely be seen exiting the room shortly after.

And I like being alive much better than being dead. There's more people to talk to this way.

Death does seem to stand in the way of conversation.
