Hmm. Well, that's probably a little unnerving. Maybe you should... leave? Fortunately, your room's not locked, but as you go downstairs and try and ask the locals what's going on, you'll find they're... less than cooperative. And if you go outside the inn and try to leave into the town... well, you'll find several locations around the town, but you'll also find that you can't seem to leave.

Well. Maybe you should talk to the other people who just showed up here. All the locals are going to tell you is an explanation is forthcoming, so you might want to kill some time getting to know each other.

We awoke in the same hotel room, neither with any idea how we arrived here. It's freaking me out-- I mean. Truly mysterious.

This could make you feel better or worse, but the name is unfamiliar to me. [He smiles a little.] So there's no reputation to ruin on my end.

I'm Zulf, by the way, from Tazal Terminals.

[sigh] Even so... Kokoro Belmont. I was working with the G-Organization, related to the Gradian military branch on Earth.

None of that makes any sense to me.... but that's a feeling I'm getting used to. So, you're military, then?

[She looks so young... but then, so had the person who had technically saved Zulf's life.]

Only very technically. I'm just working with this group for a while until I can graduate. But I've been training to protect the people since I was a child.

That's so young-! [His eyebrows rise up.] Is there a war going on...?

With the Bacterians, yes. Though for me personally, it's a family tradition. My brother defeated a great evil we've fought for centuries, but I'm still expected to keep up just in case.

....You sound like a lot of families I met back home, where their children were expected to take up the guild or their weaponry.

Why are you fighting against these- Bacterians? [boy he hopes he said that right]

They have a history of attempting to invade the planet and disturb the peace. Your home has things like that?

That's.... a bit out of the world for what I'm used to.

But.... Only fifty years before, my homeland and the land in which I currently live got into a terrible war. They're both still recovering, so it's... something I have some interest in.

I see. [Slow nod.] It's all we can do to fight and hope things will get better because of it.

Well, I'm an ambassador for peace. [He smiles, dry and frail at the same time.] I try to make things better in other ways.

You think it will work?

It's hard to say, if you mean with all of us here. I haven't met everyone else...

But everyone can be communicated with... It's merely a matter of finding the right ones.

Well, it's true that some people who come from the enemy's side can be allies, or the other way around.

Right. Hopefully, we can last long enough for people to be convinced before... Well.
